Art Restoration

Zoe, like many members of her profession works with modesty. She takes great care to preserve the authenticity of the original work while also transforming it into something more vibrant than it was when receiving it.

The most important rule being that one doesn’t impose one’s own style or personality on the painting, but rather lets it speak for itself.

Repairing damaged paintings

Her technique involves using natural materials and traditional methods to ensure that the restoration process echoes that of the original artist's style and intent.

After suffering extensive damage from excessive humidity and punctures, this painting has been fully restored to its former state.

Missing piece of canvas, and new piece of canvas sown into the artist’s canvas.

Area with missing paint covered with mastic then freshly painted over as she imagined the painter’s initial wish.

Applying gold leaf

Zoe’s variety of techniques includes applying gold leaf on frames and wooden surfaces
